description by lenlow
"This month- Brazil's Bootleg Bombshell FAROFF rocks the decks- and the dancefloor- with his unique blend of perfectly matched dance hits, latin jams and classic rock nuggets. This guy's stuff made my foot tap and my jaw drop- wicked exciting to have him slam his first guest set at Bootie!
Plus- the MIDNIGHT MASHUP SHOW!! Guess who's back, back again? Resident superstar vocalist KATIE ENLOW, that's who! She's singing live mashups, yo! And of course, resident stalwarts Lenlow and dj BC will be igniting the dancefloor with the dopest mashups, with VJ Adambalm mixing up the funky video wall!! W00tlicious."

just got wind of some sort of secret shift of power surprise party in nyc on the 12th or the 11th. idk the details are really vague. but who knows? here's the website if youre interested:
http://becausewewantit.org/

eve mosher

so going along with the theme of the last post, i have decided to continue with my entries about artists. i have talked about choe and roth and grl a whole lot. all somehow or another are linked to graffiti...well lets look at someone different. EVE MOSHER! okay so eve is a nyc/brooklyn artist who focuses on the environment and sustainability ( yes i want to be her lol). she is working on remediation --> insert __ here project, green roofs, and has previously drawn chalk lines around the city which represent flood lines. i met her at CITYSOL this summer and got the chance to do an insert___ here for her. so check her out!

evan roth

okay so heres a post about something other than an event. ever heard of banksy? yeah im sure you have. you know the one, the international graffiti super star that likes rats? of course because of his 80s idols tag name is about a rat. well you should know someone other than banksy in the graffiti/street art world. enter evan roth. the eyebeam genius resident behind GRL or graffiti research laboratory. basically he uses lasers and technology and such to leave his mark. apparently he was arrested in toyko over the summer for doing something illegal and lovely. but anyway he is the guy behind throwies and he tagged the tate use illegal green lasers. coolness. so check him out!

ps if you have a bit torrent you can download the GRL the complete first season. a whole section is dedicated to BORF

im back!

okay so after talking to L i figured id give this whole blog thing another try. and also, there is a cool event coming up in nyc that i can not pass up posting. soo first new post. drum roll please!

so basically a sketchy, illegal, underground, warehouse type party is being thrown by the one and only, and of course my favorite, EYEBEAM!

here's the description:

From sewer-dwelling alligators to underground shantytowns and smuggling tunnels; man-eating rats to illegal warehouse parties; New York City's “underground”—mythical and actual—pulses just below the City's radar. On Saturday, November 8, Eyebeam—the upstart of unconventional creativity and boundary-defying art and tech experimentation—will present the latest iteration of its quarterly live performance party: MIXER Underground, which will feature a 5000−foot maze and 30 performers.

like honestly, what sounds cooler than lasers and mazes and shantytowns? my god i live for squatters and shantytowns!

cool websites

so i think im gonna hold off on posting events only and include some fun websites also. those shall come!!!

Friday, September 26, 2008

i hope no one is actually reading this silly thing. besides maybe corinne and lanz. otherwise my blog is pretty pathetic and really wouldnt interest most people. and i dont want to come across as an egotistical asshole either. i hate those types. god i should just get rid of this thing because having a blog means that you believe someone might read it and your just filling some sort of egotistical need. well i dont think its that interesting so im not going to worry about people actually reading this thing.

oh and this is my first non event posttt

i would do this!

improve everywhere...
be apart of one of those crazy timed simultaneous actions with thousands of other people.....wear a certain color, bring an umbrella, and listen to your ipod. i dont know but it sounds cool.
